On Jun 20, when inspecting in Sinotruk, Standing Committee of the Political Bureau of the CPC Central Committee Li Changchun highly eva luated the achievements obtained by Sinotruk since the reform and reorganization, and encouraged Sinotruk continue persisting on self-innovation and thoroughly exert the induced effect of consortium to evolve into a large enterprise with core technology, famous brands and high international competitive capacity, striving for ranking into international top-three earlier, and he suggested that the development of Sinotruk should adjust to the augmentation of the economic aggregate of China, meanwhile, he demanded that the central media should do the publicizing work for Sinotruk well.

Around a.m. 10:20, accompanied by relative leaders from Shandong Province and Jinan Municipality, Li Changchun came to Sinotruk Jinan Commercial Truck Company for inspection, and was warmly welcomed by cadres and employees of Sinotruk. Leaders of Sinotruk including chairman of the board of Sinotruk Group Ma Chunji and general manager of Sinotruk Group Cai Dong etc. accompanied Li Changchun to visit.

The delegation of Li Changchun stepped into products Exhibition Hall, and Ma Chunji introduced:

Pointing at a Yellow River Young Commander truck, Ma Chunji said: “This is an upgraded version Yellow River Truck. By the virtue of a large number of domestic and overseas advanced technologies, we make the old “Yellow River” rejuvenate.

A row of lofty and mighty trucks powerfully and neatly arrayed in the Exhibition Hall looks like soldiers waiting for review. Li Changchun stopped at the front of HOWO-A7. Ma Chunji introduced: “This truck was experienced by general-secretary Hu Jintao when inspecting Sinotruk. It adopts automatic transmission (AMT) and possesses independent intellectual property, maintaining the leading position domestically. Sinotruk is the first domestic enterprise integrating AMT into heavy duty truck.”

Ma Chunji answered: “Yes, all of these are developed and manufactured by ourselves with independent intellectual property and independent brands. Sinotruk is always striving for self-innovation, continuously breeding core technology and independent brand to realize scientific development.”

Li Changchun satisfactorily said: “Self-innovation is an important route of the development of an enterprise’s core competitive capacity. As a leading enterprise, Sinotruk should further increase the strength of self-innovation to catch up and surpass the world’s advanced levels, making greater contribution to the development of domestic automotive industry.”

After visiting the entire truck exhibition hall, Li Changchun came to spare parts & components excitedly, and was deeply impressed by the vigorous and complete sourcing capacity of Sinotruk.

In the busy Entire Truck Assembly Workshop of Sinotruk Jinan Commercial Truck Company, Li Changchun simultaneously looked and inquired, and often stopped to warmly chat with employees, inquiring their work and life situation, and then he emphasized to the accompanying leaders that they should sincerely concern employees’ life and strengthen the construction of the staff ranks to ensure the long term, smooth and healthy development of the enterprise.

We will strive to improve self-innovation capacity through continuous external cooperation to reach international advanced level within 3 years.”

Li Changchun was very exciting after hearing these and then seriously inquired situations such as the R & D team and its capacity and experimental methods etc. of the Company. Cai Dong introduced: “Sinotruk boasts more vigorous development capacity within domestic heavy duty truck industry, but there is still a gap compared with international advanced level. The Ministry of Science and Technology of the People’s Republic of China has approved ‘the National Heavy Duty Truck Engineering and Technology R & D Center’ stationing at Sinotruk, by the virtue of this, we are accelerating the construction pace to establish a technical R & D center with international level as soon as possible.”

At last, Li Changchun gave an important speech. He pointed out that the improvement of self-innovation capacity was the core of National Development Strategy, was the fundamental way of the acceleration of development pattern of economy, and was the inevitable requirement of thoroughly implement of the Scientific Outlook on Development. After more than 10 years’ development, the production and sales volume of Sinotruk had ranked into international advanced level, but Sinotruk should continue persisting on self-innovation to realize scientific development, striding forward to international advanced level of heavy duty truck in the aspect of level and comprehensive economic indicators. Sinotruk should firmly improve self-innovation capacity, further complete innovative system and mechanism, breed innovation subject and exert innovation culture, practically put self-innovation capacity at prominent position, which should run through the entire process and each aspect of the development of economy and society, providing vigorous support to the sound and fast development of economy and society.

Li Changchun pointed out that at present, China’s economic aggregate was ranking into the second place of the world, and we must develop a batch of transnational corporations and our own large enterprises to support this economic position. This kind of enterprise should adjust to international standards as well as China’s economic position in the world, that is to say, a batch of enterprises should rank into international top-3, and Sinotruk should rank into international top-3 at the aspect of comprehensive level as soon as possible. Li Changchun emphasized that large enterprise boasted various advantages such as scale management, talent concentration and vigorous radiative and driving capacity etc, being the important subject of the acceleration of the transform of the development pattern of economy, the backbone of the promotion of technical progress and the main force of participating in international competition. He hoped that Sinotruk fully utilize the advantage of opening up, the great achievement of reform and development and the immense space of domestic market to develop into a large enterprise with core technology, famous brands and vigorous international competitive capacity, making active contribution to the transformation of Chine from economic big power to economic power, from OEM big power to brand big power and from Made in China to Created in China.
